DoDI 5000.81 Urgent Capability Acquisition
Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5134.01 and the July 13, 2018 Deputy Secretary of Defense Memorandum, this issuance establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for acquisition programs that provide capabilities to fulfill urgent operational needs and other quick reaction capabilities that can be fielded in less than 2 years.
This new DODI 5000.81 for Urgent Capability Acquisition replaces Enclosure 12 of the old DODI 5000.02.

AAF on Full Display in Acquisition Update Keynote by DAU Public Affairs

Description: Normally hosted live from the DAU campus in Huntsville, AL, this year’s annual Acquisition Update was streamed virtually Feb. 17-18, 2021. The theme, "Acquisition 2021: Change is Inevitable, Transformation is a Choice,” is a nod to the last year of unexpected changes and necessary adaptations required for the DoD to continue their critical missions.
Major Updates to Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) Website by Mike Coolican

Description: In early December, a revised Major Capability Acquisition (MCA) pathway was published. MCA is the largest and most complex pathway, integrating content from DODI 5000.85 (MCA), DODI 5000.88 (Engineering), DODI 5000.89 (Test and Evaluation (T&E)) DODI 5000.73 (Cost), as well as a vast array of guidance, training, and other resources. With the revised MCA in place, the workforce is now able to access AAF-specific content for all six pathways.
