Are Training Devices subject to CBM/CBM Plus? (NOTE: the MTT has no embedded electronics for fault detection, isolation, or prediction. The only fault analysis tool would be the air tank pressure gauge for visual indication of low or leaking air pressure. Another possibel fault sensor could be the external Maintenance Laptop to used for BIT emulation.)
For familiarization, maintenance emulation will be based on factual Technical Manual preventive/corrective requirements for the tactical pod.
Are there any RCM considerations with regard to the air tank?
Yes, it still has to meet the criteria. You have to make a decision if it is feasible or not. See DODI 4151.22, Dated 2Dec07, paragraph 4a for guidance.
