Whether Section L and Section M (Uniform Contract Format) can be utilized in a somewhat complex commercial source selection? 52.212-2 seems to take the place of M, but what's the commercial equivalent of L? 15.306(c) points to not using UCF, given FAR 12 specifies usage of the 1449. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Answer

The key words are at FAR 12.303:

Solicitations and contracts for the acquisition of commercial items prepared using this Part 12 shall be assembled, to the maximum extent practicable (emphasis added), using the following format:

Those qualifying words are applicable to your situation where the requirement is of a more complex nature than typically found in FAR Part 12 acquisitions. Section L can be shaped to your requirements, so there is no prescribed "commercial equivalent of L."
