What kind of verbage would be needed in a CFE contract, where the government is making the CFE Contractor ensure configurations of that CFE.is current and not obsolete, having manufacturers able not only produce the end item but produce of the assemblies, parts, and components which makes up that end item. How would the government ensure the end item could and would be reproduceable, at the point of government acceptance? or is there some guidance for ensuring such responsibility?

    Answer

Taking this question at face value, the government, contracting officer/contract specialist, would have to state in the contract, as stated in the question submitted, the specific criteria for Contractor Furnished Equipment.  To prevent confusion of expectations for both parties (government and contractor), also stating the evaluation criteria that the government intends to use to ensure contractor compliance could/should also be included.
