Good Morning, I was wondering if you could help me with a question I have regarding the Core Depot Assessment (CDA.) The last CDA I composed was in June of 2002. I have been tasked with composing a new one, and would like to know if there is a more current template for this document? If so, could you please point me in the direction to find the most current version of an acceptable CDA?

    Answer

With regard to the Depot Source of Repair process, the following link contains the Air Force Depot Source of Repair Implementation Guide, AFI 63-107, Integrated Product Support Planning and Assessment (Chapter 5) and AFI 21-133(I), The Air Force Joint Depot Maintenance Program Instruction, Revision 2, dated April 2007.  The Guide contains templates for new (acquisition) programs and modification (follow-on) programs.  In addition, it also contains a point of contact for submitting all Strategic Source of Repair, Source of Repair Approval Process, and Depot Maintenance Interservice requests/templates/forms. https://acc.dau.mil/adl/en-US/277151/file/42671/#27987 DSOR_GUIDE_Apr_07_(Rev_2).doc.

With regard to the Core Depot (CDA) Assessment process, the following link to SYSPARS, a document tool that was developed by the U.S. Army Materiel Command, Logistics Support Activity contains a CDA document module that was recently added.  It can be accessed (requires registration) via the following link:  https://www.logsa.army.mil/lec/syspars/download.cfm.

In addition, DoDI 4151.20, Depot Maintenance Core Capabilities Determination Process, dated January 5, 2007, contains a worksheet in Enclosure (2) in work breakdown structure by commodity (e.g. engines, communications/electronics equipment, etc.), as a tool for determining depot maintenance core capability. The instruction can be accessed via: https://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/415120p.pdf

In closing, I recommend accessing the following website to the Office of The Assistant Secretary of Defense, Logistics  and Materiel Readiness (ASD(LM&R)) for obtaining additional policy and contact info:
