What options to wInsight are available for automation of EV data?

    Answer

DAU does not endorse any specific software tool.  With this said, as you have mentioned, DAU has been using wInsight as the EVM analytical tool to demonstrate and communicate the EVM concepts and EVM course objectives.
As far as searching for additional EVM software analytical tools, a simple web search will provide a list of available tools.  The Acquisition Community Connection EVM Community of Practice link below has a list of EVM related tools posted by vendors.  Please keep in mind that the listed tools are not all-inclusive and DAU does not review, approve, or endorse any of the listed tools.  You may also want to reach out to your service component higher HQs to see what other EVM analytical tools are being utilized.

Another source of information is the office of Performance Assessments and Root Cause Analyses (PARCA) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition who serves as the Department of Defense focal point for all policy, guidance and competency relating to EVM.  PARCA as a government office would not recommend, endorse, or mandate the use of any particular vendor tool, but may have some insight into the applicability of some of the tools.  The link to PARCA is pasted below.

Meanwhile, one can always use MS Excel to perform the analysis and generate various EVM performance charts to address program management needs and risks.  With some initial investment of time to build the required formulas and generate a set of macros for the desired charts, while you are looking for a suitable software tool, Excel can provide the basic capabilities for the analysis.
