How does a program management office show the sequence and interrelationship of all the business and technical activities required to accomplish the acquisition?

The Program Management Office (PMO) will generally use something like the program structure chart at to show the top-level business and technical activities.  A more detailed schedule is often developed to support the top-level program structure chart.  The program structure chart is highly tailorable and developing them is one of the key classroom activities in ACQ-203 (Intermediate Systems Acquisition Course) because it’s important to understand the interrelationships between the different functional areas.  For the everyday functional area interactions, the Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure is key for integrating the different business and technical functions, and working out the details.
