What is the AROCM process? How is it different than an AROC? Why would you go the AROCM route vs, AROC?

    Answer

Some time ago, the Army Chief of Staff decided to take a more active role in the requirements process than his predecessors.  This raised the approval level of many Army requirements to the Army Requirement Oversight Council Level.  Clearly, not all requirements need this level of review and Army G8/FDJ (owners of the AROC process) are establishing rules and guidelines for a lower review process.  Currently, programs are reviewed in building up to the AROC process and if a lower review is in the best interest of the Army and the program, then  the AROC issues a memorandum directing the lower review and other appropriate constraints.  For more information contact Army G8/FDJ.
