A supply contract can be modified for this scenario if the change of product is determined to be within scope of the original requirement. If it cannot be determined to be within scope, then either a Justification and Approval (J&A) will be required IAW your agency and applicable FAR/DFARS procedures or this will have to be a new requirement.
