I have no formal training or experience in acquisition, contracting, or project managment. Most of the projects deal with capability development. How do I keep myself out of trouble? What DOD regulations should I read first? Do I need formal training as a defense acquisition professional before I can assume my PM duties. Can your recommend courses at DAU that would help understand my duties and responsibilities. Thank you.
Here is the DAWIA and icatalog website we spoke about. It will describe all three levels of PM certification and the requirements: https://icatalog.dau.edu/onlinecatalog/CareerLvl.aspx
Also, as I mentioned, a lot of the specific "right now" training you are looking for can be located at https://icatalog.dau.edu/onlinecatalog/tabnav.aspx. Just browse on the left panel by subject matter.
Additionally, here is the tools website I spoke about. It's an easy search engine to locate several resources by topic to assist. As I said over the phone, suggest you start with the adaptive acquisition framework tool that will describe (and contain links to) the DoD 5000 series: https://www.dau.edu/tools
Finally, here is the link to the appropriate acquisition career management organization for your agency: https://4edacm.dau.edu/
Good luck, wish you well on your journey and don't hesitate to contact us whenever you require further assistance.
