An Agreements Officer is used in two instances:
- Responsible for the award and administration of TIAs (Technology Investment Agreements). See (32 CFR part 37)
- When using Other Transaction Authority (OTAs) An individual with authority to enter into, administer, or terminate OTs for prototype projects and make related determinations and findings.
A Grants Officer (sometimes called a Grants Manager) is responsible for the award and administration of grants and cooperative agreements (other than TIAs). See (32 CFR part 22)
