Is this allowable? Can I share incumbent information and contact information with other agencies? I want to say no because it is like asking for employees personal information But I don't what the confidentiality laws are for contractors doing business with the government.

    Answer

Except for special circumstances such as for certain classified contracts, the identification of companies awarded federal contracts is a matter of public record. There is no breach of confidentiality in revealing the name of the incumbent contractor. One of the reasons that contract awards in made public is to alert small businesses of potential subcontracting opportunities with the awardee. FedBizOpps limits identifying data to the company name, DUNS, and address, so you should limit the information you provide about the incumbent to those data fields. The inquiring company can find out other relevant contact information (telephone, email) using the Internet is they so choose.
