Is there a DoD definition for Manageability and Versatility to use as Evaluation Criteria for BCA Analysis of Alternatives?
The Product Support Manager (PSM) Guidebook was signed and issued by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness (L&MR) in April 2011. It can be located in the Acquisition Community Connection under Lifecycle Logistics at https://acc.dau.mil/CommunityBrowser.aspx?id=440507&lang=en-US
There is no specific DoD definition for Manageability and Versatility as contained in paragraph 4.4.3 of the Guidebook. Generally, manageability consists of the ability of the product support strategy to be managed or controlled whereas versatility deals with the ability to be varied or changeable throughout the range and scope of product support. The nine qualitative and quantitative benefits categories presented were not intended to be all inclusive and require further definition at the program level based on clearly defined and relevant criteria that will enable a best value assessment.
