Integrated Product Support (IPS) Element - Product Support Management
As addressed in the Product Support Manager (PSM) Guidebook, and amplified in the IPS Element Guidebook, the objective of Product Support Management is the planning, funding and management of the package of product support functions required to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability of major weapon systems, subsystems, and components, including but not limited to materiel management, distribution, technical data management, maintenance, training, cataloging, configuration management, engineering support, repair parts management, failure reporting and analyses, and reliability growth tracking. The scope of Product Support Management planning and execution includes the enterprise level integration of all twelve IPS Elements throughout the lifecycle commensurate with the roles and responsibilities of the PSM position captured in 10 USC 4324 and DoDI 5000.02.
