On August 21, 2010, the DoD Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) achieved a significant milestone, welcoming its 100,000th member. A Major in the the Army Reserve Active Guard Reserve (AAGR) helped DAU reach the important benchmark for this rapidly growing defense acquisition community resource. She was the guest of honor at a celebration commemorating this milestone and was presented with a DAU plaque and coin by Dr. Jim McMichael, Acting DAU President in a ceremony at DAU's Fort Belvoir campus on Wednesday August 25th.

The ACC, as most of the regular readers of this blog are well aware, is an online community of practice that supports a completely voluntary member base made up of acquisition professionals across DoD and Industry. As a point of reference, the Life Cycle Logistics Community (LOG CoP) alone has 14,500 members and over five million page views in the last year, averaging more than 423,000 a month, collectively making it the single most  active community out of the 48 communities of practice and special interest areas on the DAU ACC. Congratulations to the Army Major and to all who recognize and take advantage of the many benefits of participation and membership in the ACC in general, as well as to all of you who avail yourself of the extensive resources, references, tools, and learning assets available through the LOG CoP in particular.
