Long-time members of this community recognize are a number of ways to reach desired outcomes when it comes to defense acquisition. Capability, flexibility, alacrity, and affordability are all important considerations. Or put another way, “there are many pathways for DoD to deliver capabilities”. Interested in a tool that graphically illustrates these pathways, provides brief descriptions and information about each? Better still, a tool that “helps you select the right pathways and provides you detailed guidance for each”? And ideally a tool that is readily available and doesn’t cost me anything to use? Well look no further! DAU hosts an excellent “Adaptive Acquisition Framework” tool that does all this and more. Not only helpful information on “Tailorable Traditional (DoDI 5000.02), but for Urgent Operational Needs (DoDI 5000.02, Enclosure 1), Middle-Tier Acquisition (FY16 NDAA, Section 804), Acquisition of Services (DoDI 5000.74), and Defense Business Systems (DoDI 5000.75) from this single tool as well. It even provides links to a full range of contract strategies in the Contracting Cone as well as access to the Other Transactions Guide.
