Announcing New DAU Life Cycle Product Support Training
This new DAU virtual instructor led training (VILT) course, which replaces the now-retired LOG 340, is designed to help prepare DoD Life Cycle Logistician to perform in a senior-level life cycle logistics role with emphasis on developing and implementing a life cycle product support strategy. Learners will apply tools and techniques from the 12-step DoD Product Support Strategy Process Model in analyzing and comparing alternative product support strategies for adoption. The course challenges learners to think critically in instructor-facilitated group exercises to justify and make sound recommendations in developing and implementing product support strategies and product support arrangements that provide a best-value mix of product support integrators, product support providers, and product support metrics to achieve Warfighter outcome-based requirements. This course combines asynchronous review of critical DoD policies, includes videos from other functional areas, in support of a group-developed final project.
The target audience for this new training course is primarily senior life cycle logisticians pursuing Advanced Level certification who wish to perform in a senior-level life cycle logistics role, and their defense industry counterparts.
We have 15 virtual class offerings to choose from in the coming months, as well as tentative plans for up to five additional on-site classroom-based LOG 3400 instructor-led training (ILT) offerings on the schedule as well. Note that the dates and delivery method for the latter course offerings remain subject to change as DoD pandemic requirements dictate. Note also that the iCatalog indicates course offering options may be 4.5 full days or 9 half days. In addition to encouraging prospective students to check the DAU iCatalog to determine the scheduled days for a particular offering, please note that the 9 half-day option is only available for LOG 3400V virtual instructor-led offerings.
