Counterfeit prevention is a critically important aspect of our job as life cycle logistics professionals, and knowledge of this important supply chain risk management strategy is something that we should all take seriously. To aid in this endeavor, wanted to give a shout-out to our US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command colleagues for their proactive efforts in this arena.

Not only are they in the process of developing a comprehensive Army Counterfeit Parts and Materials Prevention Program Guidebook, but they have deployed an outstanding interdisciplinary Counterfeit Prevention Program website containing a wealth of information on this topic as well. Although a CAC card is required to access the site, it is open to all DoD organizations. The site contains links to best practices, training, alerts, SME contracts, a counterfeit prevention process map, a LCSP template for counterfeit prevention content, a counterfeit prevention swim lane chart, a counterfeit prevention management program template for depots and arsenals, among a range of other resources.
