Following immediately behind the deployment this week of the new
CACQ 007 Category Management Credential, our contracting colleagues have announced the launch of the 35th new defense acquisition credential entitled
CCON 020 Contracting for Systems Acquisition Credential. This new contracting-focused credential focuses on the skills required for an employee in an 1102 job series position responsible for acquiring major systems consistent with using
Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 34,
Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Part 234, associated Procedures, Guidance, and Information (PGIs), and the DoD 5000 series. These include general principles such as an overview of the production and deployment of major systems, acquisition strategies, contract strategies, legal considerations, and other aspects unique to acquiring major systems not covered within the
CON Certification Training Program.
