DAU Deploys New LOG 100 Life Cycle Logistics Fundamentals Training
DAU is pleased to announce the deployment of our newest life cycle logistics training course! On October 1, 2017, a new LOG 100 Life Cycle Logistics Fundamentals replaced the venerable LOG 101 Acquisition Logistics Fundamentals as the first course in the Logistics Level I Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification portfolio.
The new course breaks new ground in several facets; engagement, relevance, and assessment. The new course reduced student contact time, achieved by reducing redundancy without reducing key logistics information. Engagement was addressed by embedding/linking a wide-range of workflow learning assets including Product Support-focused job support tools, DAU-hosted guidebooks, ACQuipedia articles, micro-videos, Defense AT&L Magazine articles and resources from multiple DAU communities of practice (CoP). Relevance was enhanced by adding new “What’s in it for Me? (WIIFM)” overviews for each lesson, highlighting linkages to other functional disciplines, and embracing a myriad of foundational logistics functions across the life cycle. New assessments challenge students to put pieces of information together to form conclusions, vice rote memorization or “word-search” efforts.
The new LOG 100 Life Cycle Logistics Fundamentals course better prepares entry-level Life Cycle Logisticians to face the challenges they can expect to encounter while learning their jobs and connecting to the workforce, as it expands their knowledge of the Life Cycle Logistics career field and arms them with a range of web-based workflow learning tools that will be available to them 24/7, during and after the class itself. And for those of you who are long-time members of the DoD logistics community, long-since certified, from industry, from another acquisition functional community, or perhaps just looking to remain current, this course is also for you as well! Encourage you to check it out.
