DAU Deploys New Supply Chain Fundamentals Training

Bill Kobren
Wanted to let the life cycle logistics community know about a new learning opportunity from your DAU colleagues; namely the deployment this week of our latest logistics training course! Designated “LOG 0370”, this new online training module is designed to provide an overview and information on “….identifying and recognizing key characteristics of DoD Supply Chain Management (SCM) fundamentals, and effective/efficient supply chains, including cybersecurity and risk management related considerations.” In addition to the Life Cycle Logistics career field, this new training course also offers an excellent professional development opportunity for members of the Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Production, Quality and Manufacturing functional communities as well.

Astute observers will note that DAU previously offered a similarly titled course. This new LOG 0370 online training course leverages updated content from -- and in fact replaces – the now-retired CLL 037 continuous learning module. You will also note the replacement of CLL designation by LOG, which represents the new standard for all DAU logistics and product support courses going forward. This new LOG 0370 also represents the tenth of these revamped, revised, and re-designated DAU life cycle logistics courses, which now include:

What does this mean for me, you might ask? DAU’s earlier three-digit course numbering schema is gradually being phased out and replaced by a new four-digit course numbering taxonomy. Through attrition, updated and new courses will eventually all be re-designated with four-digit course numbers and LOG prefixes. These changes are being made for a range of reasons including to align with updated course content, provide better configuration control, improve standardization, and reduce the number of course designations, among others. Details are available in two earlier LOG Blog posts “New Interdisciplinary DAU Online Training Courses”, as well as “DAU Logistics Training Course Numbering Changes”.
