DAU Deploys Two New Interdisciplinary Courses
Our colleagues here at DAU have deployed two new training courses of potential interest to life cycle logistics and product support professionals:
- ALD 0160 Motivation. In this Online Training (OLT) course, students will learn why is it important to understand motivation. Being passive is not the default mode of operation for a human being. It is in our nature to move in the direction of something we desire and deem valuable. This course provides insight into where motivation comes from, why it changes, what increases and decreases it, and why some types of motivation are more beneficial than others. Finding ways to motivate the workforce is a crucial skill for the Defense Acquisition leader at all levels to master because it will help you change behavior, develop talent, and boost the creativity and innovation of your team or organization. The target audience for this new training course includes defense acquisition professionals at all levels who seek to learn ways to get things done with and through others, deal with workplace challenges, and prepare to take on new roles. ALD 016 represents the 16th course in a rapidly expanding portfolio of high-impact, short-duration Acquisition Leader Development (ALD) training courses.
- CON 7440 Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis. In this Online Training (OLT) course, the learner is introduced to the relationship between Total Cost (fixed and variable cost) and Volume, then the relationship between Price and Volume. We will look at Volume, Revenue per Unit, Variable Cost per Unit, Fixed Costs, Profit, and the difference between rational and irrational pricing behaviors. We will also determine at what volume a product needs to be sold in order for a company to break even on their costs. Along the way we will introduce you to the terminology, the notation, and the graphical aspects of Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis.
