DAU Launches Three New Online Training Courses

Quick LOG Blog post to let readers know that DAU has deployed not one, not two, but three new multi-disciplinary training courses this week:
  • CON 0810 Contractor Personnel Accountability - This Online Training (OLT) course provides a broad understanding of contractor personnel accountability policy and processes, as well as the importance of considering accountability requirements as early in operational planning as possible. The course defines contractor personnel accountability and visibility, reviews roles and responsibilities for various government stakeholders, and provides examples of contractor personnel accountability policies from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and various Combatant Commands. The course also provides an introduction to the Synchronized Pre-deployment and Operational Tracker – Enterprise Suite (SPOT-ES), the system for tracking contractor personnel accountability in operational environments. The course framework supports Operational Contract Support (OCS) workforce training requirements and supplements other Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and joint OCS training course requirements.
  • INT 2110 International Acquisition/Security Cooperation Program Management - This Online Training (OLT) International Acquisition/Security Cooperation Management course provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and understanding of DoD International Acquisition and Exportability (IA&E) and DoD Security Cooperation concepts throughout the acquisition life-cycle by introducing them to higher level IA&E best practices that have been used by DoD Program Management Office (PMO) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) organizations to improve acquisition outcomes and contribute to the accomplishment of DoD and U.S. Government Security Cooperation objectives. The course begins with an IA&E/Security Cooperation knowledge refresher. The second module explores five acquisition life-cycle scenarios -- development and early production; mature production; non-program of record sale; and out-of-production system support, plus an historical example -- where students are provided with the opportunity to apply their IA&E knowledge to address various challenges and opportunities. The third module focuses on three IA&E best practice areas -- the PMO's role in IA&E efforts; working with industry on IA&E matters; and program-specific international business planning concepts -- that provide students with key IA&E decision frameworks and planning tools that are essential in achieving optimal IA&E outcomes at the PMO level.
  • ALD 0120 Psychological Safety - This Online Training (OLT) course is the twelfth in a portfolio of acquisition leadership development training course. Because no Defense Acquisition leader can know everything about the work that is done to serve the needs of their stakeholders, it’s important for personnel at all levels to not be afraid to speak up, share information, contribute what they know, take risks, and work together. This course focuses on the phenomenon of psychological safety and how failing to address it in the workplace can mean the difference between success and failure for a team or organization.
