Ms. Vicki Allums, Learning Director, Intellectual Property & Data Rights
A key initiative in DAU’s 5-year Intellectual Property Strategic Plan is to provide the DoD acquisition workforce with educational resources on specific intellectual property (IP) and Data Rights topics in a shorter and more user-friendly format such as videos and podcasts. These new targeted on-demand educational resources allows the DoD acquisition workforce to gain basic knowledge on a specific topic that may come up during the acquisition process.
DAU is happy to announce the release of five (5) 10 to 18 minute videos on the following IP and Data Rights topics:
  • Assertion Tables
  • Deliverable Basics, Formal Delivery, Deferred Ordering, CDRLs and DIDs
  • Rights in Non-Technical Data
  • Open Source Software
  • Software Licensing Agreements

These five newly-released videos are located on DAU’s IP Community Page - https://www.dau.edu/cop/ipdr/Pages/Default.aspx and DAU’s Contracting Media Channel at https://media.dau.edu/channel/Contracting/62925211.
To access the videos on the Contracting Media Channel, click on the link and search by title.

DAU released two additional videos earlier in the fall – “Source of Funding Determinations for Non-Commercial Technology” and “Assessing the Business Case for Specifically Negotiated Licenses,” which are located on the IP Community webpage. To facilitate easy access to its growing on demand assets on IP and Data Rights topics, DAU is creating a separate page on its IP Community Practice webpage for these new resources.

Please don’t hesitate to contact DAU’s IP Team at [email protected] if you have any questions about these new resources!
