The next DAU Alumni Association (DAUAA) Hot Topic Training Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. EDT. The Honorable Robert Work, former Deputy Secretary of Defense, will present his views on coming national security challenges and the technologies to address them. His unclassified presentation will include "Big Issues" the United States must face going forward, and his thoughts on the concept of "capability" rather than "capacity." The location will be Howell Auditorium (Building 226), DAU Fort Belvoir Campus for physical attendance. Note: Advance registration is required for those attending the session in person at Fort Belvoir. For those interested in participating remotely, visit the DAUAA Hot Topic Training Forum VTC Locations website.

Mr Work’s views have had a direct impact on DoD requirements and acquisitions that will support the warfighter over the next 10 years. Mr. Work is a retired Marine Corps Colonel and a former Under Secretary of the Navy. He has also been a noted defense strategist and Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA), and later as the CEO of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).
