Wanted to pass on an announcement from our Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) J34 R&D Division colleagues announcing their second annual DLA Industry Day coming up on Tuesday October 3, 2017 in McNamara Auditorium (Lower Level) of DLA Headquarters' Andrew T. McNamara Building, 8725 John J. Kingman Road, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060.

According to their announcement, “DLA R&D invites industry and academic partners interested in learning about the emerging needs in support of the Warfighter to attend our Industry Day. R&D representatives will make presentations on each program’s strategic objectives and open opportunities. Afterwards, invitees will have the opportunity to speak with R&D program managers. Following lunch, R&D will host an open house for government stakeholders.”

Additionally, "key topics at the Fort Belvoir event will include program requirements for R&D’s manufacturing technology, logistics processes, and small business innovation research. Manufacturing technology focuses on technical innovation to improve the operational performance of the defense industrial base. It includes efforts to improve food packaging and storage via nanotechnology, extend weapon system lifecycle through improved military power sources, and reproduce microcircuits.Logistics development explores innovative supply chain processes such as 3D printing of critical parts, alternative fuels, and medical-logistics capabilities. DLA R&D program managers will present key program requirements and followed by discussions throughout the morning. In the afternoon, R&D will offer an open house for DLA leadership and stakeholders."
