Encourage members of the life cycle logistics functional community to check out a recent DoD announcement entitled “The Defense Microelectronics Activity Designated as a Center for Industrial & Technical Excellence”.

With this new designation, the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), which is located in McClellan, California, joins a range of other DoD locations identified as Centers of Industrial and Technical Excellent (CITE). DMEA is now authorized to partner with industry under the authorities of 10 U.S.C. 2474 Centers of Industrial and Technical Excellence: Designation; Public-Private Partnerships.

Once available, a copy of the designation memo will be posted to the ODASD (Materiel Readiness) Depot Maintenance website. In the meantime, the OSD Materiel Readiness website currently hosts copies of 10 U.S.C. 2474 Designation of Centers of Industrial and Technical Excellence designations for:
