In accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66, as the Life Cycle Logistics Functional Area Leader (FAL), the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support issued an important new June 9, 2022 memo of interest to the life cycle logistics functional community entitled “Fiscal Year 2023 Life Cycle Logistics Acquisition Functional Area Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification Requirements”.

In view of the critical nature of Supportability Analysis to a large segment of the defense acquisition workforce, this new memo directs that effective October 1, 2022, the “LOG 211 Supportability Analysis instructor-led or (LOG 211V) virtual instructor-led training offered by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) be added to the Advanced Tier Life Cycle Logistics Functional Area DAWIA certification requirement as a new “choose one of two” pick-list option to accompany the current ACQ 315 Understanding Industry training requirement.”
