An Important DAU Transformation Update
The DAU Transformation Journey continues to move forward! If you hadn’t seen it already, encourage LOG Blog readers to read an article from our communications team entitled “DAU: A Platform for Knowledge”. Several key paragraphs in particular to take note of:
“Defense acquisition requires speed and agility. The Defense Acquisition Workforce must think critically, make smart decisions and move quickly. To better meet the workforce’s changing needs, DAU is transforming into a modern learning platform delivering continuous learning and support tailored to the needs of the acquisition workforce.
"[DAU's] transformation isn't happening in a vacuum," DAU President Jim Woolsey said. "If you look at the AAF, it creates an environment that encourages agility and speed for the workforce. In order to remain relevant, we too have to change and transform into an organization that can keep pace and support their demands."
What does this mean? In addition to a few thoughts I shared in a blog post earlier this summer entitled “DAU Transformation Insights and Initiatives,” the short answer is pretty much everything! Acquisition processes and policies are being transformed. Professional development is being transformed. Learning assets are being transformed. Course numbers are being transformed. Access is being transformed. Delivery methods are being transformed. Tools, resources, references, information delivery are all being transformed. And yes, DAU itself is rebranding its logo and look & feel of our online presence to convey the transformation of the university, our learning assets, and our commitment to workforce success.
So encourage you to give this article a read, then check back frequently for updates. As the article says: “ultimately, DAU aims to be a trusted partner for the acquisition workforce to improve acquisition outcomes. To design this modern learning platform, DAU is focusing on three areas: effortless learning that provides easy access to training and resources at the moment of need; world-class content that is high-quality, current and relevant; and a dynamic network that connects people who need information to people who have information. This also better reflects how people work and learn today.”
