Insights into Developing an Intellectual Property Strategy
Encourage DAU LOG Blog readers to check out yesterday’s post from our Intellectual Property Learning Director entitled “DAU Offers Resources to Develop an Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy”. In it, she reminds us “DoD Instruction (DODI) 5010.44 states that each DoD program will have a robust IP Strategy from inception of the program and update it throughout the entire product life cycle. The purpose of the IP strategy is to plan for the long-term program requirements necessary for competitive and affordable operation, modernization, and sustainment over the entire product life cycle. To do this, the Program must identify and manage the full spectrum of license rights in technical data and computer software as well as patented technologies. Creating an IP Strategy is not easy. To assist workforce members, DAU offers two resources to assist DoD program offices in developing their IP strategies
