Extraordinary Contractual Actions course has deployed!

On September 9, 2022, the Principal Director, Defense Pricing and Contracting (DPC) issued a memo titled, “Managing the Effects of Inflation with Existing Contracts.” In this memo, DPC provided procedural information on how to process requests for relief in extraordinary circumstances where contractors have sought or may seek an upward adjustment to the price of an existing firm-fixed-price contract to account for the current inflationary, economic conditions, but many questions remain. This course is for our defense partners who seek relief under FAR subpart 50.1 and acquisition professionals who process and review these requests.

This course does not address Economic Price Adjustment (EPA) Clauses or modifications based on consideration. For more information on Inflation and EPA clauses, please refer to the references in the Summary section at the end of the course. DAU hopes that by outlining the criteria necessary to grant relief, and providing numerous examples of past decisions, we will arm contracting officers and contract adjustment boards with the data necessary to make decisions in the current environment.

Learners will not receive CLPs through Cornerstone on Demand; however, they may take the course for credit once a formal version is deployed. This version is for informational purposes only and is only available at this URL: https://content1.dau.edu/extraordinary-contractual-actions-raw-H8ltdt2Z_260/content/#/.
