For Army Life Cycle Logisticians, wanted to call your attention to a new Department of the Army Pamphlet 700–142 entitled “Instructions for Type Classification, Materiel Release, Fielding and Transfer” was issued on July 1, 2014. This new DA pamphlet complements and provides amplifying information in support of Army Regulation 700-142, a subject I discussed in detail in a January 2013 blog post entitled “New Army Regulation 700-142 Type Classification, Materiel Release, Fielding, and Transfer.” Once again, I’d encourage all Army life cycle logisticians, Product Support Managers (PSM) and Program Managers (PM) to take a look at this new regulation, and recommend their counterparts in the other Services and DLA – particularly those of you working or supporting joint programs with the Army -- to check it out as well.
