The Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment issued a new memo dated December 21, 2020 entitled “Defense Acquisition Workforce Leadership Team (December 10, 2020) Meeting Minutes – Back-to-Basics Implementation”. We anticipate a copy of the memo will be posted on the USD(A&S) Human Capital Initiatives (HCI) Back-to-Basics (B2B) website.

In the new memo, DoD leadership provides additional information in support of the September 2, 2020 USD A&S Memorandum entitled “Back to Basics for the Defense Acquisition Workforce”, including re-/de-coding guidance for the components in completing defense acquisition workforce position designation reviews. Given that life cycle logistics is one of the six streamlined functional areas designated by the September 2020 USD (A&S) memorandum, we understand the next step for our community will be an update to the Life Cycle Logistics Position Category Description (PCD).
