New Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness
In case you were not already aware, Ms. Sue Dryden has been selected as the new Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness (DASD(MR)). Ms. Dryden joins the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) staff from the US Air Force, where she most recently served as the Deputy Director of Logistics, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington D.C. Her official Air Force biography provides insight into her extensive and varied career in the product support and materiel readiness arena. Among her many other duties, she takes over leadership of the ongoing implementation of the recommendations identified in the DoD Weapon System Acquisition Reform (WSAR): Product Support Assessment and in the coming weeks we understand she will also be assuming responsibilities outlined in DoD Instruction 5000.66 as the new Life Cycle Logistics defense acquisition workforce career field Functional Leader (FL).
