For those who may be wondering, the phased retirement of the venerable Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) continues apace. Following the retirement of DAG Chapter 4 Life Cycle Sustainment earlier this year in conjunction with the deployment of the new May 2022 DoD Product Support Manager Guidebook, the Office of the USD(R&E) issued a new DoD Technology and Program Protection Guidebook dated July 2022 to provide implementing guidance for DoDI 5000.83 “Technology and Program Protection to Maintain Technological Advantage” policy, as well as to replace the now-retired DAG Chapter 9.
