New LOG 105 System Sustainment Management
In case you were not already aware, your DAU life cycle logistics team today completed a comprehensive review and revision of the old LOG 102 online training (OLT) course, deploying the Level I DAWIA certification course as a newly re-designated LOG 105 Fundamentals of System Sustainment Management. The updated version of this course provides defense acquisition workforce members with a broad overview of the role of the life cycle logistician during the sustainment phase of a weapons system's life cycle. Modules cover logistics/supply-chain management concepts, maintenance processes, end-to-end distribution, best commercial practices as applied to weapon systems sustainment, and performance metrics. The newly updated LOG 105 was also restructured and streamlined. The updated version reflects the latest information from supporting reference material and guidance, and includes updates to a range of embedded web links as well. As part of the revision, course length was shortened as a result of reducing content from 23 to 17 modules. Target attendees include acquisition and sustainment professionals responsible for establishing and maintaining life cycle logistics support for defense systems and equipment during the sustainment phase. Professionals certified at Level I and above in any acquisition career field are also encouraged to take the new LOG 105 course.
