New Maintenance Planning & Management Credential

Bill Kobren

Your DAU teammates are pleased to announce the deployment today of the seventh in our expanding portfolio of fifteen planned Integrated Product Support (IPS) Element-based DAU life cycle logistics credentials! The new CLCL 004 Maintenance Planning & Management Credential is now available for student registration.

This latest interdisciplinary life cycle logistics credential brings together nine short on-line training (OLT) courses and supporting resources to offer a comprehensive overview of maintenance planning and management. It is designed to provide learners an overarching understanding of the life cycle logistician’s responsibilities for planning and managing the product support associated with maintaining their respective weapons system. The credential focuses on specific topics that can impact the overall maintenance planning and management process. Examples include Product Support Arrangements; requirements derived from Key Performance Parameters, Key Systems Attributes and Additional Performance Attributes; Reliability Centered Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance Plus; demilitarization and disposal; logistics product data; and, configuration management and engineering change proposals. A summative examination must be completed to demonstrate the learner’s ability to apply what they have learned. The target audience includes defense Acquisition and Sustainment workforce personnel from multiple functional areas, including life cycle logistics, engineering & technical management, contracting and program management.

With additional product support-focused credentials slated to deploy in the coming months, as of today we now have seven product support-focused life cycle logistics credentials available, including:
