The newly published October 2020 edition of the Defense Acquisition Research Journal (ARJ) is now available online as a pre-Veteran's Day holiday treat – for your reading pleasure, your professional development or of course,  both. With a theme of "Influencing Defense Acquisition: Delivering Capabilities Faster", this latest edition is stocked with interesting, engaging and timely articles, including:

  • Camouflage Combat Uniform - The author of this case history studies the Army's decision to change the camouflage pattern on combat uniforms. The case history allows acquisition professionals to analyze the Army acquisition decision-making process, specifically focusing on skills in critical thinking, problem solving, resource management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication.
  • Measuring the Impact of Innovation Activities in Government - This research assessed how government-focused innovation organizations advance innovation and evaluate their results.
  • Delivering Capability Through Competition in Defense Contracting: Does Policy Drive Results? - As the largest federal obligator of contracted dollars, the Department of Defense (DoD) is rightly scrutinized over contractual spending. The results of this study highlight competition trends across DoD contracts, identify barriers, and inform recommendations to promote future competition.
