New Training on Acquisition of Defense Business Systems
Earlier this month, I advised in a blog post entitled “Two New Training Opportunities for the Life Cycle Logistician" that our Engineering & Technology colleagues had launched new ISA 220 Risk Management Framework for the Practitioner and CLE 076 Introduction to Agile Software Acquisition learning assets.
Following quickly on the heels of these two new learning assets, our E&T colleagues have announced the launch of their newest IT-focused training module, CLE 077 Defense Business Systems (DBS) Acquisition.
This new online learning asset provides an introduction to Defense Business Systems (DBS) for anyone with a basic interest and understanding of how and why DBSs are important and how they support the Department of Defense in achieving its overall mission. This course introduces the accepted definition of a DBS, the history of DBS, governing documentation related to DBS; the uniqueness of DBS, how they play into the Defense Acquisition Lifecycle and finally, their interaction with other DoD software domains. There will be special emphasis on the DBS requirements process, DBS lifecycle, interfaces, testing and the infrastructure required to support DBS acquisitions and management. Five (5) Continuous Learning Points will be awarded for completion.
