BCE 0110 – Total Ownership Cost 

This Online Training (OLT) course will examine the similarities and differences between Total Ownership Cost (TOC) and Life Cycle Cost (LCC). It will also cover some factors that affect TOC in DoD programs. By the end of the course, you will be able to: 1) Define Total Ownership Cost and understand its history; 2) Distinguish between TOC and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) to determine which is suitable for different situations; 3) Apply cost estimating techniques to standard TOC elements; and 4) Explain and evaluate TOC Management initiatives, such as Reduction of Total Ownership Cost (R-TOC), Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV), and Activity Based Costing and Management (ABC/M).

The target audience for this course is acquisition professionals that wish to understand how DoD identifies Total Ownership Cost.
