Performance-Based Acquisition Resource
Came across a federal government resource available from the General Services Administration (GSA) Steps to Performance Based Acquisition (SPBA) that might be of interest to the DoD product support community. Akin to DAU’s Service Acquisition Mall, it offers some useful resources including a government-wide perspective of this topic.
I particularly like how it puts the process in context: “A successful acquisition answers four questions: what do I need, when do I need it, who needs to get it to me, and how do I know it's good when I get it?” While the resources are likely to be most helpful to our contracting colleagues, the overarching activities and processes outlined in this SPBA tool are not all that different from the twelve-step Product Support Strategy Development Tool we offer for the DoD life cycle logistics and product support community. At the end of the day, all three are potential tools to add to your toolkit for delivering outcome-based capabilities to our warfighter customers.
For additional information and direct access to DAU product support and life cycle logistics tools in particular, encourage you to peruse our Integrated DAU Product Support Tools and Resources site.
