Sharing Knowledge
Defense Acquisition University (DAU) knowledge sharing resources support the defense acquisition workforce and extend the reach of DAU beyond the traditional classroom and online courses. Our online resources also extend beyond our target audience (the defense acquisition workforce) to support our industry partners - providing access to an acquisition body of knowledge 24/7. The benefit and value to the workforce are real time access to people and information. The value derived from these interactions may take the form of time savings, reduction in errors and rework, decrease in duplication of efforts, improved quality of work products, increased awareness of policy, and improvement in policy adherence; and ultimately positive impact on the ability of the workforce to successfully perform their jobs and achieve mission success. DAU knowledge sharing resources provide a connection to the defense acquisition workforce between training events and serve as a readily accessible capability for the workforce for acquisition information and resources.
DAU knowledge sharing resources include the Defense Acquisition Portal (DAP), ACQuipedia, Acquisition Community Connection (ACC), Ask a Professor (AAP), Acquisition Best Practices Clearinghouse (BPCh), the DAU Virtual Library, a Media Library, and numerous performance learning tools, among many others. These knowledge sharing resources are an extension of the classroom courses, online training, continuous learning, and mission assistance offered by DAU and is an important component of the award-winning Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (AT&L) Performance Learning Model (PLM).
The Acquisition Community Connection makes more than 50 communities of practice available to the workforce, including of course, the Logistics Community of Practice (LOG CoP), and includes 24/7 access to a rich set of resources policy, guidebooks, tools and resources, the ability to find and accelerate solutions, to ask and answer questions, to network and collaborate with peers, and access direct communication from leaders. These extensive DAU knowledge sharing assets offer a vitally important and readily available (at no-cost to the user) resource for you and your acquisition colleagues. If you have not yet availed yourself of these tools and resources, encourage you to take the time to explore and become familiar with them. It’ll be worth your while.
