Six DAU Logistics Learning Assets Earn ACE Credit

Bill Kobren
Following on the heels of ACE Credit for CLCL 002, LOG 3400, LOG 3500 Training, wanted to let DoD life cycle logistics functional area members who are pursuing college degrees at institutions recognizing training provided by DAU (or have colleagues on your team who are), that American Council on Education (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT®) evaluators recently concluded an exhaustive review of four more of our Life Cycle Logistics training courses and two additional Life Cycle Logistics Defense Acquisition Credentials. I’m happy to inform you that the these DAU learning have been recommended for the following credit hours for ACE Credit-Accepting Institutions:
  • CLCL 004 Maintenance Planning and Management Credential – ACE recommended 2 undergraduate semester hours (SH). Highlights of reviewer comments: “This (credential) is well-designed with appropriate content and subject matter. In particular, the review team commends the quality and professionalism of the course materials. The content and scope, while narrow due to the course training to mission, aligns with courses offered at post-secondary institutions at two semester hours.”
  • CLCL 006 Designing Supportable Systems Credential – ACE recommended 3 undergraduate SH. Highlights of reviewer comments: “This (credential) is well-designed with appropriate content and subject matter. The content and scope align with courses offered at post-secondary institutions at the upper-division level,”
  • LOG 2010(V) Product Support Strategy Development, Part B – ACE recommended 3 undergraduate SH. Highlights of reviewer comments: “The course is well-designed with appropriate content and subject matter, and the review team commends the breadth of assessments. The content, scope, and rigor of the course aligns with courses offered at post-secondary institutions. The rigor of the assessments measures learning at the upper levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.”
  • Bundle of LOG 2040 Configuration Management, LOG 2150 Technical Data Management and LOG 0580 Standards, Specifications & Technical Publications – ACE recommended 2 undergraduate SH. Highlights of reviewer comments: “This course, a quality grouping of short courses, is well-designed and organized with appropriate content and subject matter. The content, scope and rigor of the course aligns with courses offered at post-secondary institutions.”

According to our DAU Director of Academic Programs, the DAU iCatalog has been updated to reflect the ACE credits and ACE is working to have the courses available on their website. The effective dates for these ACE credit recommendations are September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2027.
