In responding to a recent query about system end-of-service life planning and execution, I was reminded just how much material is readily available. As a public service, indulge me as I take a moment to share just a small portion of those references with a broader audience. This list is, of course, not in any way all inclusive, but it is a good start for information related to system retirement, demilitarization, disposal, disposition, reclamation, and end-of-service life planning.

·         Services' Independent Logistics Assessment (ILA) guidance (Note – the name is in the process of changing from ILAs to Logistics  Assessments (LA), and a new DoD Logistics Assessment Guidebook is in final staffing and should be issued by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) in the coming weeks.
