For life cycle logisticians who may not be aware, there are a myriad of key organizations in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) that play a role in acquisition, sustainment, product support, research and engineering. Permit me to highlight three in particular I’d recommend we should all be cognizant of fall under the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Sustainment, namely:

• Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics or DASD(LOG)
• Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness or DASD(MR)
• Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support or DASD(PS)
