CON 7040, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Part 1. CON 7040 provides instruction in the various aspects of Public Law 100-679, and the history and applicability of the CAS. Students will also learn the techniques for application of the fundamental requirements of CAS 401, 402, 405, and 406, or what is often referred to as modified CAS. While the primary audience for this course is DCMA level 1102 personnel, any procuring contracting officers and contract specialists that have contracts that are subject to the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) or must comply with the CAS for costs to be considered allowable, should complete this course. Of the three CAS courses, CON 7040 has the greatest applicability to all contracting officers and specialists, as the decision to incorporate a provision in a solicitation or clause in the resulting contract is a pre-award responsibility. For more information and to enroll, go to: https://icatalog.dau.edu/onlinecatalog/courses.aspx?crs_id=12766.

CON 7050, Cost Accounting Standards Part 2. In this Online Training (OLT) course, students will learn the techniques for application of the fundamental requirements of the remaining 15 Cost Accounting Standards, often referred to as full CAS. The standards covered include the Compensation Standards (CAS 408, 415, 412, and 413), standards related to Tangible Assets (CAS 404, 409, 414, and 417), Specific Types of Costs (CAS 407, 411, and 416), and Allocation Standards (CAS 403, 410, 418, and 420). Students will solve problems and gain a working familiarity relating to the implementation of these CAS requirements. The target audience for this course is any 1102 civilian, GS-9 or above, and military equivalents, who work with contracts that are subject to CAS. For more information and to enroll, go to: https://icatalog.dau.edu/onlinecatalog/courses.aspx?crs_id=12808.

CON 7060, Cost Accounting Standards Part 3. This Online Training (OLT) course is the third course in the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) course series. CON 7060 provides instruction on Disclosure Statements, Cost Accounting Practice changes, and cost impact statements. The target audience for this course is any 1102 civilian, GS-9 or above, and military equivalents, who work with contracts that are subject to CAS.
