Your DAU colleagues have deployed three new multi-disciplinary online training courses of potential interest to the life cycle logistics functional community. Encourage you to check out all of these new professional development opportunities!

  • CON 0161 Competition in Contracting. This is an Online Training (OLT) course designed to introduce the competition requirements prescribed in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), and the Army FAR Supplement (AFARS). It examines various pre-solicitation events such as market research, public notices, agency requirements for brand name items and bridge actions, and reviews the impact each may have on full and open competition. Course lessons and topics offer illustrations from bid protest decisions and other resources to promote greater understanding of regulatory language related to competition and enhance the skills of apprentice and seasoned contracting professionals as well as acquisition professionals representing requirements communities and mission partners. The target audience for this new DAU training course includes acquisition professionals from all defense acquisition workforce functional areas.

  • CON 0840 Vendor Threat Mitigation (VTM). This Online Training (OLT) course provides students with a broad introduction to the policies and functions for VTM and the importance of considering the potential risks introduced by malign actors in campaign and contingency operations. The course defines VTM, reviews roles and responsibilities for various government stakeholders involved, and provides examples of VTM policies from various Combatant Commands and operations. The target audience for this enterprise-level course includes Department of Defense acquisition and non-acquisition professionals, especially supply chain security professionals; joint and Service component headquarters staffs with force protection, counterintelligence, and operational contract support responsibilities; and contracting activities supporting overseas campaign and contingency operations.

  • ACQ 0490 Procurement Fraud Indicators. This Online Training (OLT) course provides an awareness of procurement fraud indicators. This course was developed as a result of a department-wide review of vulnerabilities to fraud, waste, and abuse in contracting integrity, as directed by Congress. The training course is intended for those responsible for the acquisition actions within the Department of Defense (DoD) community. The target audience for this new DAU training course includes acquisition professionals from all defense acquisition workforce functional areas.
