Time Running Out to Register for April Acquisition Symposium
As I shared in an earlier February blog post, the DAU Acquisition Symposium is fast approaching. A reminder to those who have not registered yet, there are just two weeks left!
A few details:
- What: "Defense in Transition – Organizing for a New Era of Acquisition”
- When: Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (ET)
- Where: Scott Hall, Fort Belvoir Campus, and via VTC to numerous DAU regional campuses and sites
- Overview: DAU will host the annual Acquisition Training Symposium at our Fort Belvoir campus on Tuesday, 3 April. This year’s DAU Training Symposium focuses on Defense in Transition and the significant organizational changes directed by Congress. The plenary session includes a keynote address by Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, the Honorable Ellen Lord; a panel discussion by the Service Military Deputies about the impact of the increased component acquisition authorities; and a Section 809 panel discussion that examines initiatives to streamline and improve defense acquisition. The Symposium also includes two blocks of 17 classroom training sessions on current acquisition hot topics, including initiatives related to increasing efficiency of the acquisition process.
