Two New Defense Acquisition Credentials Deploy

Bill Kobren
Your DAU colleagues are pleased to announce the deployment of two new multi-disciplinary contracting and acquisition intelligence-focused defense acquisition credentials entitled CCON 010 Special Topics in Contract Pricing Credential and CACQ 010 Foundational Acquisition Intelligence Credential.

Students enrolling in the new CCON 010 Special Topics in Contract Pricing Credential will learn about special topics in contract pricing, specifically the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and the Overhead Should Cost Review process. In the three-part CAS content, students will receive instruction in the various aspects of Public Law 100-679, including the Cost Accounting Standards, rules and regulations of the CAS Board, Disclosure Statements, cost accounting practice changes and cost impact statements. Through the CAS techniques for application and the fundamental requirements of standards, students will solve problems and gain a working familiarity with DoD guidance relating to the implementation of CAS requirements and administration of contract cost adjustments. In the Overhead Should Cost course, learners will become familiar with the skills required to conduct reviews that aim to promote both short and long-range improvements in a contractor’s economy and efficiency to reduce the cost of performing Government contracts. The target audience includes any Acquisition Workforce Member who deals with overhead issues, as well as those seeking a deeper understanding of Should Cost Analysis including GS-9 or above 1102 job-series civilians and military equivalents who work with contracts that are subject to CAS.

The new CACQ 010 Foundational Acquisition Intelligence Credential provides a joint, department-level foundational understanding of the knowledge and skills required to perform the role of the acquisition intelligence analyst. This credential focuses on the timely and effective communication between the intelligence, requirements, and acquisition communities throughout the acquisition lifecycle. In successfully completing this credential, candidates will demonstrate a basic understanding of the integration of threat and intelligence supportability analysis as well as the criticality of timely and effective communication between the intelligence, requirements, and acquisition communities throughout the acquisition lifecycle as prescribed in DoD Intelligence Support to the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (ISTAFF) Guidebook. While open to all defense acquisition workforce members, the target audience is Intelligence Analysts, Requirements Officers, Program Managers, and Technical Subject Matter Experts (e.g., program analysts, test engineers).
