Your DAU faculty colleagues have deployed two new multidisciplinary online training courses of potential interest entitled SWE 0052 Build a Release Plan and SBP 1010 Introduction to Small Business Programs, Part A.

SWE 052 is the next in a series of new short-duration DAU software micro-learning assets. The new course, which takes less than 30 minutes to complete, describes how a Programs Capability Needs Statement (CNS) or, Software Initial Capabilities Document (SW-ICD) is used to identify the Product Vision for the Programs' product to be developed. Then, it describes how that Vision is decomposed into capabilities/features. These capabilities/features are mapped to a Product Roadmap of products (a Product Line). Then, it shows the idea of developing a cadence leads to the release plan -- which product/feature/capability first, second, etc. The target audience includes all members of the defense acquisition workforce.

SBP 1010 Online Training (OLT) introductory small business course covers the small business vision, goals, culture, and values from the view of senior DoD leadership. The course will review small business success stories highlighting some contributions small businesses have made to the success of the Department. The course will also provide key, baseline business processes, tools, legislation/policies, and procedures, including funded programs and socioeconomic programs. Finally, the course will discuss the expectations of small business professionals throughout the Department to help provide an understanding of where and how they fit into the Defense acquisition landscape. The target audience includes Small Business Professionals (SBP), SBPs pursuing the CSBP 001 Small Business Professional Credential, and any defense acquisition professional who participates in matters relating to DoD Small Business Programs.
